What is a custom battle, and how do you unlock it? 

Custom Battle is a game mode you unlock upon reaching Captain Level 8. You can invite players from your friend's list and guild mates by creating your own game. There, you can challenge your friend to a 1vs1 battle. You can also play the old-fashioned way, which is five vs five or any combination, including 1 vs. 5.

How do I create a Custom Battle:

The Custom Battle button can be found by tapping the “Battle” button and then selecting “Custom” on the right side of the game mode selection. Once tapped, the Custom Lobby will be created, and then you can start inviting players to join. However, please keep in mind that you can invite up to five players per team and up to five players who can spectate the battle.

Can I choose a specific map?

Of course, you can! However, if you cannot decide which map to pick, you can also make the map selection random. Tap the question mark that says “Random Map” by default, and this is also where you can leave automated map selection or manually pick one you’d like to play on.

Can rewards and infamy be earned from a custom battle?

There are no rewards or infamy gains from these battles.

How can I move players around?

The host of the Custom Battle lobby can drag and drop a player to other teams or spectators.

Are there any infamy limitations?

None at all. It is up to the host to ensure the battle is fair and fun.

Can everyone replay the battle?

Yes, but excluding regular spectators. However, when you host a lobby but decide to spectate, you can replay the battle along with everyone who participated in the match.
