When the league season ends (every week), all players have their Arena Trophies reduced to a specific amount depending on the league they are in. This is being done to provide fair gameplay for all players at the beginning of a week. Therefore, if you have 2800 trophies and still haven’t reached the new league minimum trophies score, your trophies will be reset to 2000 trophies.
